How to install the Toolkit

A one-time setup in Google Earth Pro. Follow each step — the save step matters.

Open your Google Earth Pro application.
If you need the latest version of Google Earth Pro, install it here: google.com/earth/versions.
Double-click Treeline_Map_Toolkit.kml — the file you just downloaded, in your Downloads folder.
Once it opens in Google Earth, it will be placed in the Temporary Places folder.
Drag the entire Treeline Map Toolkits folder up into your My Places folder.
Save the My Places file now. Go to Google Earth Pro → File → Save → Save My Places. Failure to do this will result in data loss.
The Toolkit is now in your My Places folder and connects automatically to the Treeline server.
Upgrading from an older Treeline Toolkit? Delete the old toolkit tree from My Places — your new personal copy replaces it completely. If you saved your own pins or tracks inside the old toolkit folder, drag them out to My Places before deleting it.
Updating later: there isn't any. This is the last toolkit download you'll ever do — new states, new layers, and every improvement flow into this same file automatically. Your toolkit is linked to your Treeline membership. If your membership ever lapses, the maps pause with a renew notice — and they wake back up on their own within about a day of renewing. Nothing to reinstall, ever.
